What clothing should I bring?

The air is almost always humid. Therefore, when it is hot, it seems exceptionally hot, and when it is cold, it seems quite frigid. The weather can "always" get hot. Cotton clothing is recommended. Likewise, always prepare for rain. A rain proof jacket and rubber boots are highly recommended during rainy, wet conditions. From November until early March, cool fronts can drop temperatures into the high 20’s (F). At these times, warm, layered clothing is recommended. The best plan is to contact Macho Creek Lodge just prior to your trip to discuss weather conditions.

There are several creeks on the Peeler Ranch including the LaParita, Turkey, Souse, Caballos, and Macho. Macho Creek winds through the majority of the Peeler Ranch and can be seen from the front porch of the lodge. Justin Peeler came up with the idea to open a hunting lodge on the Peeler Ranch while working at sport fishing lodges in Alaska during 1992 and 1993 after he graduated from Texas A&M University. In Alaska, he showed many people several potential lodge names. Most everyone either stopped or paused on the name "Macho Creek". Thinking people would remember a name that made them pause for a moment, Justin named the lodge, "Macho Creek Lodge".
